No audio device?

My computer says (under sound options) that there's no audio device. But there are speakers plugged in, and they've been working for something like two years.

They work if I log off, because they make the annoying logging off sound. But nothing else makes any sound.


I'm using XP Pro SP2.

Actually, it now is working with Windows Media Player and iTunes, but nothing else. >.>
