$60 was what it took to make LW carbon neutral. That is to say that the $60 will be used to reduce energy consumption from something ELSE by the amount that LiveWire uses, effectively negativing LiveWire's energy consumption.

I found an article about that on Wall Street Journal and the experts even said that although it may have minimal effect on how much energy is used, it is still something to show later on.

"My hope is that by setting Blackle as their home page people will be reminded of this need to save energy each time they go online." Similar wording appears on Blackle's "about" page.

And if anything, we should start some sort of campaign such as creating an informational topic about how to save energy in your own home- the easy way.  

I'm just throwing more ideas out there for you guys. Even though it may just be $60... that doesn't mean we have to stop there. David is spreading the awareness of what you could do to help out. It is just the first step to   a greener tomorrow.

Yeah, I do agree. I'm a bit of an environmentalist, and I have no work to do this weekend so I might start one.  Indeed, $60 is only a start, you can do so much more.

I'm sorry (not really), but 60 dollars is NOTHING compared to what the LW members 'donate' to the site itself.

Are you expecting a pat on the back for this measly little gift?

How about donating 60 dollars per week? Or even per month?

I donated 30 dollars every two weeks (every paycheck) to various foundations and charities.

60 dollars, ONCE, is a paltry amount, and should have been given in secret, instead of acting as a reason to prance around and call oneself 'green'.

This is just stupid.
