So I've struggled with anorexia, with some bulimia thrown in for good measure on and off for five years or so now. I'm doing better at the moment, I got my period back this month after a few months absence. I'm wondering if other EDers ave weird food habits/rituals though? These are things I've done my entire life, that since moving out have only gotten bigger and odder
1) hoarding food. Even though I don't eat it, I have to have food in the house. Much more than I could eat if I wanted to. I take free food from events and bring it back home, only to let it rot in the fridge, or worse, I hide it places. I've been saving people's left overs out of the trash and hiding them around the house since I was a child. I'm always just a little terrified that there won't be food, but I'm not sure where that compulsion comes from
2) eating non-food. I eat a LOT of paper, chalk when I can get it, and clay. Sometimes dirt if it looks tasty, or coffee grounds. I also chew on bits of wood and plastic, eat scabs etc. I just get an urge to when I see these things.
3) chewing and spitting. I know that a lot of people do this as a way not to get calories, but I've been doing it since I was about five. It just makes me feel better.
4) smelling food. I pretty much have to smell it before I'll eat it.
Does anyone have things like this in common? Or other weird things?

I probably don't even mean it.
