So i dont know if this is a virus or not.  But abouyt 95% of the time i try to boot up my computer it makes a weird noise, and the monitor doesnt get any connection.  The monitor acts as if the computer isnt on.  And when i dont hear that noise is when it works.  Someone was telling me it could be a virus and another person was saying its my graphics card.
any help?

I can't tell you exactly what it is, but im pretty sure it's NOT a virus.. virus' (as far as I know) don't effect computers in that way, it's more internally, and not the conection between monitor, and the box part( w/e it's called) lol

Sounds weird.. but i do not know if its a virus.. as iv never heard of a virus doing that.. and with a noise..

there could a lose connection somewhere? you could ask your parents or something to look at it.. remember to unplug from the mains before looking..

If you  think its a virus have you done a virus scan? and perhaps try a spyware scan..  if you don't have a spyware scanner.. you can download Ad-Aware 2007 the free version from here:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/single/trialpay.php

make sure you click the free version..

umm i don't know what else to suggest.. if it keeps happening i think its either time for a new computer or you could call an IT technician round or something

Since it happens at boot time, and you can hear the hardware making weird noises, I'd imagine that it is a hardware based problem rather than a software (virus) based problem.

First, make sure all your cables are plugged in correctly and tightly.  You'd be amazed at how many problems this can solve.  If you're experienced in such matters, you may want to open up your computer and ensure that all the components are also fitted in properly and that there's no parts flying about inside.

After that, the only real advice I can give is to take it to be repaired by a professional.
