Don't blur out the words when the mouse is put over the link things.  It kind of hurt my eyes, so I'm assuming if they hurt mine they must hurt others as well.  You could do like a cool back alien glow or something instead.  Or invert the colors.  Out of the entire website layout that's the only thing I'd consider changing.  :-)

I would suggest a picture or two on the index page and maybe a nice flash intro.  Also, I'm not a fan of the blur effect.

I understand your point about the pictures, and that would make sense if I ran the kind of business that people just stumbled on to the site by accident and ended up booking. But in this case, the only people who are really going to be looking at it are probably typing the URL in the bar specifically to see my website, therefor going to look at my pictures. But I would agree, if there was a chance of people just passing through ordering a shoot, it'd be a good idea.
