Ok so I just got outta a  REALLY bad Abusive Relationship  I had been with this guy since I was 13!!! I saved up enough money to get the hell outta there and get my own place and a job I also just quit like about two weeks ago COLD TURKEY!! pill poppin, cocaine, LSD, heroine, weed, shrooms, binge drinking you name it day & night I was always FUCKED UP!  But I've since then Had REALLY REALLY bad Panic & Anxiety Attacks that come from out of NOWHERE!! So I've been taking Xanax it helps a little but not much I mean I would be way outta my mind without it and I just found out i'm 10 weeks pregnant!!!!

Should I stop taking Xanax??? I don't know how much more my body can take going cold turkey off such a rhard core lifestyle for so long!! I don't even know if its to late and if I already fucked my baby up!!

I guess this is just really a cry for help advice ANYTHING I'm in a new place all alone and have no one to turn to so I found this site to just VENT ....

If you only quit two weeks ago and you're ten weeks pregnant, that little thing growing inside of you is already seriously fucked up. You will have completely screwed with it's neurological development, it won't be hitting the proper milestones in healthy fetal development and you'll be stunting this child for the rest of it's life.

Stop taking Xanax. Or, if you'd rather not quit, then abort. I'd suggest abortion anyways because of how seriously disabled this baby will come out, but that's your call.

You should speak with a doctor of course.

Yes, you should stop taking Xanax. It's a Class D drug. You can always check out http://www.safefetus.com for information on prescription drugs during pregnancy. It has this to say about Xanax during pregnancy:
"The drug is teratogenic in animals at high doses producing skeletal anomalies and by affecting the fetal neurodevelopment it causes cerebellar defects, reduced motivation and increased male aggression in the adult offspring exposed in utero."
"Chronic maternal use of the drug throughout pregnancy can cause neonatal withdrawal."

The majority of the fetal organs form in the first three months of pregnancy and if you've been using hardcore drugs and excessive alcohol there's a very good chance that you have caused serious damage to your baby. No one can probably tell you for sure. An ultrasound can at least tell if there is any physical defects. You may be looking at a baby with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

Here are some links you might want to check out
