I love playing softball, I always have. I maintain about a 3.8 gpa ( 5 A's, 1 B ). I started the softball season, and over the past few weeks some of my grades are dropping due to missing class for games, and no time to study. Should I quit? And I'm on the fence, so I'm not against quitting, but if I do, how do I tell my coach?

Don't quit. Try your best to keep both good grades and softball.

You can miss or be late to trainings before tests. You can train alone at home instead...more runing and stuff than technique.

You can also miss a few games if you have to study.

Try to explain your coach how school is important to yu as well as the softball.

I hope he'll understand.

Best wishes,
Kathy.

I answered your eHelp. :)

Hey! This is a really common problem that a lot of us unfortunately have to encounter and deal with in high school -- balancing school, friends, and well... everything else. As much as I wish I could, I can't make this decision for you -- only you can do that. What you have to do is just sit down and think about things, prioritize. What is more important, school or softball? The obvious answer would be school, but since you've already got such great grades... do you think it's worth it to go from being a great student to an average student, but do what you love? Or is it more important to you to be a top-notch student? It's all up to you in end.

Good luck!
