I know that my brother had a hemorrhoid ( a side effect from a past disease he had) and had some bleeding. I'm not sure how much, since we don't share that kind of information with each other. Over the counter medication will clear it up.

If you do have cancer, and I highly doubt you do, think about this. People who have cancer didn't know for a while, and they survive. A year isn't all that long. You'll come out fine, I'm sure.

Go to the doctor. Like..Tomorrow. I know very little about this subject, but enough to know that anything that lasts for a year is nothing to be sneezed at. You need medical attention as soon as possible.

Is there any physical discomfort or pain associated with it? Do you have any other cancer-esque symptoms ie weakness, fatigue, diziness etc?

could the blood loss be associated with your anemia? Could that be affecting the continued blood flow?

I don't know. I hope so. That would be good. I'm hoping the fact that the blood is a light color is a good sign.

It would make sense to me that anemia would affect it.

I still maintain admantly that you should go to the doctor ASAP if not sooner.

Personally, I would go to the doctor.

a doc will say that if the bleeding from a hemorrhoid doesn't go away after a week, to seek emergency medical care.

You have had it a YEAR.

THere is nothing that anyone is going to say that will ease your mind except a doctor.  What I do know is that blood in feces has two characteristics.  If the blood is red in color it is closer to the exit of the rectal canal which most likely is a hemorrhoid.  If your stools are dark in color it is usually more internal. Regardless it has been going on too long and you need to get it checked.  Loss of blood can affect your energy level.  

Don't be silly and stupid....see a doctor.
