I have been thinking about becoming a carpenter after I get out of the service. I found this one Apprenticeship thing, where it is union, but it sound pretty good. I would be working and going to classes at the same time. For the first year I work there I will be getting $15.59 a hour, then the second year $18.04, then the third year $20.48, and the fourth $22.93. After I get done with the Apprenticeship I will be making $24.45. Doesn't that sound great? lol

Are you kidding? $24.45 an hour would equal out to be $53,790 a year. Plus, as you gain more experience it will go up and if you work for yourself. You are probably young and haven't even got your first job, but that is a good amount of money. Especially when I will be only like 22 or 23 when I get that amount. Sure it is no doctor, but I want to be a carpenter, everyone doesn't grow up to be rich. Sorry to break it to you.

I thought pimps had to be men, so that would be out.
I'm looking at either investment banking or law.

Ok, so if you go into being a lawyer after your first four years, you will make about $64,000. And a banking job on average you will get $63,000. lol, wow, you make an average of $13,500 more than me. Plus, my job you have freedoms where I can easily start my own business. So that right there I would be making a lot more than what I originally posted. See I don't care about money. I don't plan to get rich. By the way I can make up to $84,942. I think that is pretty good for just a trade. Seeing as I don't have to pay for college.

I'm curious where the heck you're getting those stats from. I said investment banking, not banking. Theres a huge difference. Starting salaries range from about 50K to about 150K. But anyway, I'm glad you can advance in your career. I was under the impression that 24 an hour was where you were going to stay for the rest of your career, which is why I said its good for starting but not for a continued career.

After taxes it's only a little more than $41K/year. It's ok money, but it's probably hard work, and most likely very time consuming (as you probably have to gain ties with people to gain jobs and earn respect to earn that money).

There is a reason why you tend to not see people doing manual labor until they're 50.
