From experiences of my own I had learned to save change from things I had bought. I know the situation you are in probably won't help to buy things. Yet, for the future change will always add up quickly. As for the job, the best thing I can advise you is to make a really good resume and cover letter. Making sure to stay accurate on the information you bring.
Interviews are a really huge part on getting oneself a job. You need to be able to look presentable and have set up a portfolio for yourself. What I mean by a portfolio is listing all of your achievements and goals on to a binder.
Now, if you have already gone on to doing all of this you can do basic things. A couple of examples would be:
*Shoveling snow for 2-5 dollars
*Having a garage sale of all the items you don't want. Make sure to cut the price in half to what you bought it.
*Babysitting can do a lot for oneself in the sense of money.
*Make something creative like walking people's dogs for cash.
With that all being said and done I would also suggest the thing you done to save yourself that 12dollars.
