That's disturbingly reactionary.

It's well established that our pumping of CO2 and particles into the atmosphere is causing it to heat up. That's not a matter of debate, it's scientific fact.

Therefore, considering the terrible implications of warming, we should be doing everything in our power to decrease the amount of CO2 and other pollutants we are releasing into the atmosphere and decrease the amount of CO2 and pollutants to a stable level.

Even if global warming caused by human activity is bullshit this is still the best course of action in terms of helping the environment.

Making rough guesses from graphs like those isn't helpful because there are a huge number of contributing factors that are completely ignored by a simple "time vs. temp" graph.

1) it is obvious that CO2 levels will rise. And will never return to any level that anyone see's as "normal"

the human population on earth is now 6 billion people, in 1900 it was just over 1.6 billion, in 1950: 2.5 billion.

Isn't it obvious that with the growth of the human population, their ever expanding needs, and the simple release of CO2 in our breathe that the levels will have risen substantially?

Of course, CO2 being released from our factories and cars is effecting our atmosphere, but what do YOU propose. what are the measures that YOU are proposing we take? more filters? stricter restrictions? they will not help.

Sure we should do it anyway to help the environment that we live in, but as far as doing it to recompense... we have already damaged the atmosphere during the ID, it will never go back to the way it was.

My point is that we are not nearing some catastrophe, just that the AVERAGE LEVEL has risen and that we are simply still feeling the nature based fluctuations in climate.

Nature is a powerful force and is not one to underestimate.

carbon sequestering, norock carbon sequestering.

Plus I always liked my idea of genetically engineering a type of grass that is horribly CO2 inefficient and spreading it across the lawns of the world. With billions of acres of grass that literally sucks C02 out of the atmosphere, we could in theory cool the planet.

lol, though i don't believe it is anything to be overly concerned about stopping...

If it is happening, it is happening, its not like religion where one can choose to believe it or not, if its true, there is no arguing.
knowledge is not a virus, but it should be knowledge in truth, and with the most evidence possible to support its validity.

The CO2 created by humans is as insubsantial as the methane created by plants compared to what we are pouring out. And our CO2 used to mostly be processed by palnts, but we are deforesting so much and developing so much that we are causing nearly irreversible damage.

The biggest obstacle to helping the environment, always, is people taking a reactionary attitude that shrugs off problems as either fake or impossible to deal with.

Governments need to take polluting legislation seriously. Even China is recognising this and is taking some reasonable steps to deal with its effect on the environment.

Look at how much bullshit there is going down in California right now. Hell, in the entire US. People need to be educated, governments need to be pressured and science needs to have more funding.

It isn't too late to maintain stable atmospheric temperatures by controlling what we dump into it. The only problem is people slowing things down.
