its not a retainer, and i think the reason you cant drink things like coke with it is because it keeps it on your teeth for longer and darkens the part with the brace on so no i don't think that would work

You can...I have braces and i drink like dr. pepper and eat starburst and stuff. It's a bunch of bullshit when they say don't eat blah blah or drink blah blah.
