Alright, only answer if you actually know the answer. LiveWire probably isn't the best place for me to ask this, hah.

I have designed a website, and several people want to donate to it that have found it.

In order for me to accept the donations, what do I have to do?

Legally, of course. :)

I think that if you make an account and they deposited in it saying the money is going to be used for the website?  Or maybe ask a Lawyer? Just in case.

Just make a PayPal account and set up a donations button. I dpon't think that the money's yours until it's in your bank account. So there's no legal ramification.

I think you're right - LiveWire probably isn't the best place to ask about this.  I could see a few potential issues, such as what you do with the money etc, but I'm no expert.  I'd advise you to have a chat with someone who is well-versed in such topics.

Ha, I learned as long as I don't get a major income, I will not be bothered.

Basically, I am making a total profit of: $0.00, so it is not an issue.

Then in all honesty, it shouldn't really matter.

You can take donations on your site using Paypal.

Unless you get $500 or more in a year, you dont have to claim it on your taxes.

You probably dont qualify as non-profit, so that doesnt really matter (LW still doesnt have a 401-C3, and they probably would qualify).

Hell is the same, but the beer is stale and the strippers have STDs
