There's not a lot I can say on this subject, because I can't change your view on emotions and feelings and the validity of them all. All I can say is that if you feel it then it's absolutely there and it's absolutely real. I do, however, have a few things to say about a "meaning" and "reason" for being. Truly, it's my own personal belief that there is no reason for being. None at all. To some that's an incredibly depressing thought, and I don't want to depress you further or make you feel any worse, not at all. However, just because there's no real and apparent definite reason for us all plodding along in life does not mean that we shouldn't continue plodding along and doing what we can with what we have. In the huge scale of things, individual lives probably don't matter (in the grand scale of it all, I mean) but at a more basic and person level our lives can have all the meaning in the world. If not to ourselves then certainly to the people around us. Really, so few people realise the huge impact they have on the people directly around them. Friends, family, colleagues and work - people like that. If we cease to exist then, yes, people would move on and life would go on, but our lives will have imprinted itself on each of their hearts and that's something that'll never leave.  Yes, everything's going to disappear eventually and eventually I'll be long gone and so will the people I've had an influence on, but does that really matter? You and I are here, for whatever reason, for wondrous reasons, for reasons we'll never understand, but the simple fact is that we are here, so why not just embrace it whilst you can?

I understand that for a lot of people that's simply not enough, they need actual reason and motive and all of that in order to continue living. In these cases my opinion is that we make our own reason and point in life. Even if we don't understand how, we do feel emotions and we are here for a bit of time. For that duration of time we find things that we love doing and that we're passionate about, and I see no reason why someone shouldn't spend their lives pursuing their dreams and desires and passions and everything like that. For some people, that's what makes life worthwhile. That's why it's all worth it, that's the reason they need to keep getting through each day.

You are right in the sense that one day we all stop existing and all the memories fade and all the emotion stop and yes, everything ends. However, that day isn't today and we still have a fair amount of time before that happens. Does it really truly matter that you don't understand the meaning of it all just yet? Do you need to know the ultimate reason for everything in order to continue with life? Or can you just embrace life as it is, for what it is, the good and the bad until it does eventually end and who knows what's going to happen after that? It can be so extremely frustrating to carry on living when you just don't understand why, truly I do understand this. You can question the reasons behind life and whatnot all you want, or you can just embrace life and get on with living it, stop wasting time questioning it.

I don't know why you're here. I don't know why I'm here, why my friends are here or why anyone is here. No one knows for sure. I wish I could give you answers and reason and meaning, but I can't. I really think the only person who can give you reason and meaning, if you really need it, is yourself. If it's that important to you then do something like pursue something you're really passionate about, make it your quest to do something a bit different in this dreary world or whatever it is that you want to do. Find your reason and work with it. It might take you your whole life to find that reason or maybe you'll never be quite fulfilled, who knows? At the end of the day, though, you'll never actually know unless you stick it out.

Give it a go, yeah?

to turn the darkest room of suffering
to a greater state of pain
don't tell me that's behind you now, don't greet me
don't meet your dying blind
