Well Ill be ordering my new motherboard and 9600gt next tuesday so should have em on wednesday... Not really looking forward to a reformat though :\

I'll post some results then :P

I hate reformats. Vistas not nearly as bad if you have the right drivers though.

Whats your processor? I want to know how similar spec we are.

Actually the above may change around the same time of ordering my parts... Seems that there are no SLI AM2+ boards out atm and well really i have enough to get a SLI 650i board and a Q6600 G0.

So it might be a bit later than Wednesday depending on when i get some money in.

Yeah, Im waiting on the SLI for my Phenom.

Intel (nvidia) has released the chipset, I just havent seen any manufacturers using it yet.

Im going to Google around and see if I can figure out when it is released.

get the 9800 gtx. They're just starting to come out.

I got the 8800gt because of a budget and it's working fine on high demand games. Just pick one soon because ATI is  releasing a new 3870x2.

Pricing and release is still up for grabs though/

Actually, they arent nearly as expensive as once thought.

They are only $320. I could see myself buying one now.

Even more so that my rig cant do SLI (grr, no Phenom SLI boards...still!).

As far as performance, I hear its about the same (9800 is just an SLI 9600 on the same board.)

Edit: Scratch all of that! I was going on what I read on Engadget the other day. $320 my ass!

They are about $600!

The answer is easy. Are you a hardcore or casual gamer? Can you handle playing future titles at medium-high settings? Or must you have every game play at ultra/high settings on high resolution?

Hardcore=8800GT 512MB about $200 bucks

Casual= Go with the 8800GTS 320MB about $115 after MIRB
