Healthy weight for a female at 5'7 is about 135 pounds or a little less. 120 is a bit too thin.

135 is chubby

It will be worth it every way. Working out just makes you feel good in general. And your time frame is off, you can burn most the weight in a few months. In a year you could go from what you are now to a very toned, low fat body if you put the work into it.

^^ and actually, im 5'9 and weighed 147 pounds BEFORE i lost weight. I felt uncomfortable with the size I was, im not ENCOURAGING the poster to lose weight, but I know that personally for myself, although BMI etc SAYS i was a healthy weight, I KNOW that for me, people had noticed I had gained and it didnt actually look natural. Dont be so quick to judge when you dont know what her body type is like or anything.

(was directed at xXASHiSaFREAkK by the way..)

Thankyou!
Yes, I'm the same. It's not like I want to be a twig or anything, not at all, I just have an athletic figure, which used to look good, but when I gain weight I look sort of butch...
I feel like Britney Spears after she gained weight, haha.

I have the 'athletic' figure too. So I completely know what you mean about looking kinda butch when you gain. Losing it made me feel so much better about myself. I promise the patience is worth it, just make sure you go for 3 meals a day and dont be afraid to treat yourself. Going for long walks helps SO much too =)

I'm not "FAT". I'm fat by the standards of a thin person.

wait? Is this forum about weight loss or impatience?
Anyway, impatience of one shows inner disorganization that, in turn, affects our ways of thinking, living, eating and so on. Organize yourself inside and all will start to fall into the right places, including the weight.
As an example: When we are disorganized from within, we ourselves (even if only subconsciously) perceive our outside world as disorganized. That does include self outer appearance that we start to try to correct using tools given by the outside world. That may certainly lead to making wrong choices in simple caring for ourselves that includes how we eat, exercise an so on. In turn, that may lead to putting more toxins in our body. Now, the toxins are the guilty party. They block our metabolic system from getting read of what already exists. Now, the amount of fat in our body is also worked out by metabolic system that never would have a problem of maintaining a healthy balance of it that is just beneath our skin. But when it slows down and or gets blocked by ever collecting toxins the system can not properly perform and we start to collect fat along with toxins. So, by organizing your inner self first, and  that includes patience all you will have to do is eat normal smaller 3-4 times a day meals(but none after 7 pm) and move your body which ever way you enjoy moving it to give it a good exercise, thus oxygenating your muscles and tissues; thus helping you body get rid of the toxins faster; thus being able to work out the extra fat THE BODY THINKS IT has. Drinking 8 glasses of water, but none after 7 is as important and brushing your back, belly, arms and thighs with the dry brush towards your lymph nodes is a must on every day basis for about 20 minutes. Doing these simple things is what you have to concentrate on. (But even those require a little patience. lol)  As you will start doing the above, your body will start to do ITs job- that includes getting rid of toxins and unneeded extra fat.  So, You do your job and let the body do ITs. And you will be on the way to better you in whole that will include how you see yourself on the outer layers. But you do need to start from within.

if you really want to lose that weight and feel that its necessary, you can cut down to around 1500calorie intake a day, then when you reach like 130lbs, down to 1000 a day, but if you feel too hungry, do eat something, just make sure its something healthy :)

and exercise is key, because muscle burns more than fat even when at rest (1kg muscle= burning 120kcals a day, 1kg fat =20kcals average)

dont wonder why im not smiling, wonder why you are.

the best way is to not think about losing weight, but waking up with a smile everyday and loving yourself. eat your three meals with a smile but dont fill yourself, blah blah you know the deal, just smile everyday knowing that itll come soon, but enjoy the time now.
