Since i'm off here in a minute, and don't want to wait for you to reply....

If you're using Internet Explorer, do this:

1.) Slap your self, because you're a fucking moron.
2.) Download firefox.
3.) Delete cookies.

If you have firefox already...

Just delete your cookies, that's more than likely the problem.

First, don't be under any obligation to change browser.  If you lock down Internet Explorer's security settings, it will be as secure as any browser can be.  Personally, I prefer Firefox for its customisability and the fact that it is open-source.

To see if it is a virus, try downloading a free anti-virus program like AVG Free Edition and running it.

If this doesn't pick up anything, you should probably run some anti-spyware utilities.  I would recommend Spybot S&D and/or AdAware Free Edition.  All of the above programs cost nothing and can be an invaluable source of system protection and fixes.

FireFox are used by noobs.

It has the same functions as the internet explorer.
Don't be a noob.
Install some anti-virus, so at least you can be sure if you have a virus or not, and what type it is.

But I will make my bet, and say it's not a virus.
You probably installed some new program on your computer that is consuming the hell out of your memory and cpu.

BTW, What are your hardware spec.?
