It will be gone.

I dont thing the FTC will allow it though. That would give MS a monopoly in the search engine business.

No it wouldn't... MS and Yahoo! combined don't have anywhere near as much of a market share as Google does.

They're going to use Yahoo's recognizable name to try to challenge Google's supremacy, of course.

What MS should do is assimilate all of MSN's similar functions into Yahoo. Yahoo is profitable. MSN is not. That is an key distinction most people don't realize. MS should take everything that is good about MSN and add it to Yahoo and streamline yahoo. MSN is obviously not working well.

Macromedia is still around. It's name hasn't disappeared.

I know that now. At the time I posted that, it was just speculation, MS hadnt released any official numbers yet.

Not, it still remains to see if it will go down. As of now, Im pretty sure it will, unless MS faked some numbers.

Look at what happened to Hotmail then MSNGroups. The groups in particular, Microsoft closed down all the "good stuff " and deleted the adult groups, sending everyone to a "paid" groups services. Of course they got in free as a member of an old MSN group for awile but anyone new then had to provide a credit card to join. Killed a lot of groups.  I bet same will happen to Yahoo adult groups.
