I am taking a web design course at school and it is mainly based on Microsoft FrontPage 2000. I have never used it before. So I'm just wondering, is it a good tool for making webpages?? Also, I have experience with Dreamweaver and I'm wondering if Frontpage is similar and which is better.
thanks!

FrontPage is alright, I mainly use it because I have found nothing better yet. I haven't used Dreamweaver extensively but it seems like FrontPage has better site managin capabilities than Dreamweaver. XZRM

Well, it's good. There are better ones, but Front Page is pretty easy. So I think it is good for you.

imo, dreamweaver is better for more advanced stuff, FP takes you by the hand and does lots of background stuff.

your best bet is to stick to notepad :)

You should try using it a bit more.  Frontpage can hardly do anything compared to Dreamweaver.  Dreamweaver is a professional design ap, whereas Frontpage is just a basic tool that microsoft bundles for free with software.  It's like comparing paint to photoshop...

actually, FP used to cost $200 CAD..and you can still buy it.  its not free...and MS intends it to be used for all web site and dynamic content.  but, its still bad news.

notepad all the way! (or dreamweaver)

Hehe, yeah, and you can also still buy internet explorer for $40.  That doesn't mean anyone does.   :D

<- is what I recommend for editing web pages. I've also used Frontpage2000/2002 - Dreamweaver. I hate Dreamweaver, as it would screw with my front page coding... suprise suprise - I would recommend using 2002 as it's ALOT more user friendly. Then again your old friend pico will always be there.  :)
