the reason for me wanting to join one is to hopefully make some friends in college (because i have none right now even though it's my second year)

im extremely shy so unless someone comes up to me first, i will usually keep to myself.
im trying to break out of my shell by joining a club. but am not sure if it's a good idea to do so in the middle of a semester.

im afraid of going to club outings/meetings and being alone because everyone already knows someone from previous outings/meetings.
