You should be able to get any retail or grocery store cashier position.

You might have some trouble finding an office type job.  You have to start somewhere.  Retail can be fun, but you do not want to be in it forever.  I worked retail over fast food.

Good luck finding a job.

I was in the same situation when I was in college.  Depending on the size of your college, you may be able to work a part-time job at the college.

For example, my college hires college students to telemarket to alumni to try to get them to donate money, has students at the Fitness Center to make smoothies, have students at the Fitness Center to check people in, have students at the front desks of residence halls, have students to do some trivial classroom tasks (like cleaning chemistry beakers), and much, much more.  There's a place on campus - the job office, where we can go to look at everyone who is hiring on campus.

This is my best piece of advice - try to get hired for an on-campus job.  Most that I have seen don't care about previous work experience.

Start by volunteering at a local library, shelter or even for the American Cancer Society or other nonprofit. All the skills you acquire will look great on a resume, the staff will be happy to write letter of recommendation and it looks great on a college application. Not to mention there are plenty of scholarship opportunities for people who volunteer. Sometimes, the nonprofit will hire you (paid) after a few months if you are good at what you do and your schedule is a little more flexible than a typical job.
