He was just a normal kid. Just average. Average grades in school, real quiet. Except normal three year olds don't try to sell you their toys for real money. I always thought that was one unusual thing about him. He was obsessed with things. Always asking for the latest gadget, Ipod, cell phone etc.
Two days ago my brother was arrested on burglary charges, breaking and entering and drug paraphanelia on a school campus posession after the cops searched his car. He is seventeen and addicted to Oxycontin (opiate).
Three years ago he started hanging with a bad crowd. His friend was so addicted to Oxycontin he was willing to break into houses to get it. He started giving my brother these pills and to try to be cool he took them too. My brother has always wanted the coolest toys, and the "coolest" friends. This druggie kid he was friends with was in a band and that made him cool. My brother started taking the pills and soon became addicted too. Two days ago they broke into a house together to get more pills and were caught. My dad, who has never done drugs, never stolen anything and raised my brother in a Christian household said he felt like he died. My grandpa said it burned him up inside to think about and urged me not to think about it too long or I'd go crazy. Since everyone in my small rural community knows who did it, our name has been blackened forever.

Imagine the possibilities. Fuck what your friends are doing. If they are doing bad stuff, lose them.

Worse of all my dad made him go apologize to the owner of the house and it turned out to be my dad's old high school biology teacher.

The use of Oxy isn't the issue. While illegal, it certainly isn't immoral or necessarily bad. And it has legitimate medical purpose to it. The issue is that he's a stupid hoodlum. I hope is sent to jail and made into somebody's bitch there. He deserves it for fucking with somebody else's property.
