I've done that, however I agree with vitamin, you'll probably need Windows around for one thing or another.

Congratulations - may I ask what distribution you're using?

Well if you need windows for something, just run vmware ontop of your *nix platform. I got freebsd 4.8 and run xp ontop of vmware2 (newest version to work on freebsd).. so i can still do my video chatting; though im glad wine almost runs it too :)

I would move over permanently but I can't get a modem to work.  All the modems I've tried seem to be winmodems.  Does anyone know of a modem that would work with linux (56k) and where I could buy one?  I'm in the UK.

Thanks  :)

The easiest solution is to multi-boot. I have a laptop with a 60 gig hard drive, and I'm happy with a Redhat installation with Windows XP and a GRUB boot loader, which makes the multi-booting process so much easier.  Another commonly available boot-loader is LILO.  Most linux osses have their own customized boot loaders, in this case, I personally think that the GRUB boot loader for redhat linux 9 is much nicer both graphically and functionally.
