I sort of like this, but at the same time I do not. I don't want our SLs to feel afraid to vote or take action they feel is right based on the idea that they could be punished for it points-wise.
------- So when you're happy (Hurray!), or sad (Aw!), Or frightened (Eeek!), or mad (Rats!) An interjection starts a sentence right.

I agree with The Professional, I don't think we should have a point incentive to move topics or removing posts. I mean, it seems like a good idea, but I don't think it is necessary.

I don't think we can issue penalty points or even any type of point removal for something as small as this. If a member breaks the rules in a serious way, promotes harm, for example, then they will most likely be given penalty points incurred under a warning, but if a topic is wrongly moved, it can be moved again, the same sort of thing goes with post removals, if a member feels a support leader removed their post wrongfully, they can submit an MER and the moderators will review it and decide if any further action needs to be taken. The point being, i don't believe actions such as; wrongfully moving topics or wrongfully removing posts should bring forth a punishment as harsh as penalty points.

Punishing support leaders with penalty points over something as small and trivial as a single post is unfair. If someone is blatantly abusing the system, sure, but not over a disagreement about whether a post should be moved or hidden.

As I see it, this could go either 2 ways. A) Due to the point incentive we've now got SLs who're a little more willing to move things/delete things then previously to get those points. B) They're too afraid because of how it might effect their "penalty" points, which could make them unavailable for things like the OB. Penalty points don't really mean much though, even on the mod application it's about posts deleted, not penalty points, if my memory serves me. I understand you're trying to encourage diligence, but I feel there could be some better systems put in place other then a reward/punishment one for correctly moderating - like a better record for accountability and correctness in moderation, mainly because it's not about the single post, or single wrong topic move, but if it is a general problem and trend for the SL themselves, it should be made a note of.
