I have encountered upon this daily, so, I am wondering what you think. When people quote a removed post, it is supposed to be removed for "Reply to Removed Post". They say it is for organization. Fine. That is a legit reason and I will go by that. Every single time I remove for that, I always get shit. I explain it, and they eventually understand. I usually, if not always make an attempt to PM the member, asking them to edit it first, or it will be removed. It is just easier, and nicer to them. When you remove for this, do you just go ahead and hide, or do you PM them. I think, because they do not know that what they quoted is removed, it would be nice of us to PM them about it. Ideas?

As I can edit, if their post has more to it than just the quote, I may edit out the quote and leave their "actual" reply. If it is only in response to the quote, I just delete, and let them figure it out.

If the quoted is something utterly useless, and the reply to the quote is just as useless, I delete without a second thought. If it was something well thought out and showed some amount of consideration, I'd message the member, but that rarely happens.

I typically always message the person. It is just common courtesy. I am not so trigger happy that I can't PM the person in question and let them know their reply is going to get deleted. I usually only wait a minute after their message is read, and if nothing is done: DELETED

I got a pretty awesome message TODAY: This message was generated automatically. Your post which you created in topic WTF MODS?! has been removed by a vote by support leaders. This was done in accordance to LiveWire's Guidelines. Your post: Yeah, jehovah, stop being so russian. Really, though, you are not getting anywhere with personal attacks. They didn't deny your avatars because they don't like you, they basically did it in your best interest. No one would be able to see what they were. Reasons: Post replied to a post which was removed causing it to no longer make sense in context. One point has been subtracted from your post count. If you feel it was removed in error, please reply to this message explaining your reasoning. - The LiveWire Team

I message them normally unless the post is worthless to begin with.
