That might void the warranty, fyi...
That too. They won't refund you for a drive you killed yourself.

There is no way to tell if I did it myself..

Ya there is. If it seriously does work (which it probably wont) then they could tell, because even if all the data is erased on a drive, the surface of the drive is still rough, a magnet would make it smooth.

Besides, magnets dont really damage drives to easily. They are made to not be very sensitive, so unless you have a bad ass electomagnet, I doubt you would even be able to erase it all.

Besides, its not their job to look at the content. They probably wont, and even if they do, they wont open up shit and look at it. So, if something was mislabeled, they arent going to open it up and see that its kiddie porn.

What I would do is just toss the drive onto something hard, so it looks like it is seriously broken. They will look at the drive, see that they cant fix it, so they wont. They will then just replace it.

If they save the drive for refurbishing (which they probably wouldnt) it wouldnt have your information on it, so they wouldnt know it belonged to you if there was something bad on there.

I really knew that they wouldn't look at it, I'm just worried.
