I am leaving for college next fall and really, really excited. I remember at your age I was really looking forward to it to. Doesn't seem like it is already almost there....enjoy what time you still have!

While I am not one frequently found partying, especially not on nights when I have class the following day, I disagree with Hovering. If you get your work done first, and are smart about your partying (eg. limit your drinking), there is no reason you cannot do well in college and still party on a daily or almost daily basis. Obviously there will be times when the work load is too massive for this, but in general, unless he goes to UChicago, I see no problem.

Sadly no, I got rejected from the University of Chicago last year, and instead go to Case Western Reserve University, which isn't any cheaper. Nor are the schools I'm looking at as a transfer applicant. The problem is that above a certain income, you must pay full cost, even though it is a great financial burden. I suppose I'm lucky, in the sense that my parents are covering my undergraduate degree. The issue, at least for me, is what happens after that. Or, put more exactly, I intend to go to law school, or if I get the chance, a joint MBA/JD program. And that costs alot of money, but aid is still based on parental income (so says Harvard), even though it'll be coming out of my pocket.
