Just because you go out every night doesn't mean you are drinking and partying. Freshman year and some of last year I hung out with my friends just chillin till like 2, 3, 4 am some nights. Even with class at 9 the next day. As long as you make yourself actually go to class the next day (catch a nap sometime during a break) and don't do it around the time you have tests, it's fine. I would limit the drinking to the weekends, usually, and it's fine. College is harder than high school but unless you go to some really really super duper hard university like Harvard or Chicago or something, I don't think it's impossible to do while still hanging out with friends a good bit. You just have to learn how to balance study time with friend/hang out/drinky time.
