About a month ago, I replies to an eHelp with over 3500 words. woosh. Well, it was to a novice, and they never signed back on. Now, whenever a novice is offline and submitted an eHelp, I hesitate to reply to it, because of the fact that they may not sign on. I feel really guilty about this, should I be?

Well with most novices it seems that they never do come back, but I'd still make the attempt to answer their ehelp. It may seem pointless if they never come back, but some do even if it isn't consistent with other members on here. I would say go to the other ehelps first and then go to those of novices who have already logged off.

Depends on whether you get e-mails notifying you of eHelp replies by default.

Sorry, I didn't mean you personally. I meant it depends on what the default is for new accounts. If one gets e-mails notifying them of a new eHelp reply without having to change their account settings, it's a lot more likely that they read your reply. And if it's more likely that they would read your reply, you probably shouldn't avoid helping them.

Most people will have e-mails activated, therefore assume that they read it there and never came back, but it was still useful to them.
Hopefully that would make your hesitation go away...

It's still possible they'll see it. You get messages with every month of inactivity.
Solution: don't look at the rank?

Yeah, so far I've checked the rank about twice. I just don't think of it.

I wouldn't feel guilty. Look at it this way, you are still getting points and still providing advice that someone else might look at one day.
Plus, practice makes perfect so it will help you become an even better support leader.
