There Are many differnt editions of Windows, In the past year I've tried everything from 98 to Vista.

Even though Vista is the newest OS, I really do not like it. XP is by far my most favorite to date. I find it very easy and simple to use, but only downside to it, is all the un-needed programs.

ok, so they can be ussfull, but there not for me. for example, all the little extra's such as the system restore ect...

si, I've been looking for differnt versions of XP, i'm not talking about Home, or Pro. but like TinyXP and XP Black Edition.

Now before any moderator's close this thread and starts moaning to me via PM, I'm not posting any links, talking about downloading or any other crap about warez. I'm wanting to discuss the best edition.

I'm a PC Gamer, which stuggles to keep up to date with the latest hardware requirments, and as a result i try and make my computer as effient a possible, give up the "pretty" looks for better performance.

TinyXP is very small, and i assume it has great performance but with very little compatability?

XP Black, is a very large OS with loads of Programs and other crapware included, which takes a large amount of recsources. but they have removed allot of crap from the orginal XP to improve peformance.

Have you ever put XP on a diet? removing system features and removing crap? ever used XP black edition pr TinyXP? or know anything about them?

can you tell me a bit about them?

thanks.

Well, I've raped my windows XP before, and cut it right down, but I don't like tinyXP though...I like to do these modifications myself.

before my laptop caught on fire I'd actually modified the original windows kernel (yes I have the source bitches) and had my own version of xp running with a few enhancements... it actually had a lot of potential :(

I've removed windows services and have done many mods before on XP, but never noticed too much of a difference. If your computer isn't from the ancient era, it really doesn't need tweaked.

Run windows the way it's meant to be ran, and ignore the hassels from everything else.
