I was just wondering your views on vista, I never liked it before i got it but now i have i think its awsome.

It's not as bad as I thought it'd be, but it's still got major issues IMO.
The new interface is nice, but Compiz Fusion in Linux still beats it for both looks AND function by a lot.
The confirmation dialogues are fine for settings, I'll agree, and other system stuff, but they pop up on routine tasks, and often instead of appearing, just stop things from working. Running in full admin mode in Vista to counter that is dangerous for a number of reasons, but I may have to because of the awful design of UAC.
I've also noticed Vista seems to have issues when there's a lot of harddrive access going on- Issues I've never run into with XP.
The help files are almost totally useless, as with all windows products, outlining only the most blaring obvious solutions to problems (like whether or not the cord is plugged in), but is slightly better than XP I guess.
There is one thing Vista has somewhat impressed me with though: DPI settings. On all other OSes I've used (yes, even linux), adjusting the font DPI made it bigger, but it always looked really tacky and messy, and the overall effect was quite unappealing.
Vista actually does it right, although for some inexplicable reason it requires a reboot.
Also, I'm still at a loss why Vista doesn't have backwards support of any kind for older third-party drivers. I know it's quite possible, because linux, a completely different system, can use ndiswrapper to utilize windows drivers under linux. It's far from ideal, I agree, but it at least allows things to work- which is more than I can say for Vista. Luckily I don't use printers or scanners or other things that typically require third party drivers, and my hardware's brand new, or else I'd probably have ditched Vista by now.
It's good enough to use without screaming at it (well, if you have more than 1GB of RAM), I'll admit, but for something that took this long to be released, and has had a year or so to be fixed, it's not very good.
