Please share your opinions here on age differences in teen dating.  Is age just a number, or should you stay close to your own age?  How many years is too much?

I am really a believer that age doesn't matter.  But I think that really applies with the older you get.  Like a 25 year old and a 30 year old, no big deal.

But at the teenage years, you go through so many changes and just a few years difference you are very different emotionally.  I being a college freshman could never go out with a sophmore, because I am just emtionally not at the same level as that person.

But if you two feel that you connect well, all the power to you!

Love can be tangled by the 2 most different people.

^^^ no one try to top that quote I just made up... lol

Well... umm.. it shouldn't matter at all. If you truely like him, go for it.. and him. ;)   lol jk ..

You're not really in a "long distance relationship". Plus it's legal... so why not? Just make sure you're not wasting time with him... *feels braindead*

There's not much of a maturity difference between 18 and 16.Nah it doesn't matter;you both like each other right?

Then go for it.

So if I were 18, and my girlfriend was 10, and she believed she was ready, would that be okay?

You have to set limits, obviously.  A 3 year gap is the maximum.

Well, I believe age matters when it comes to.. say.. a huuuuge age difference like 16 and 30 [eck]. But 2 years isn't that big. My boyfriend and I are 2 years apart from eachother. He's a college freshman and I'm a junior in highschool.

Hummm...a sophomore in high school (or even a junior) with a freshman in college.  This is completely different.  One is worried about driving and the friday football game, while the other is worried about life decisions including marriage.

Hey but maybe that is just who I am, I am sure that there are many 18 year olds that are still concerned with picking their nose.

As I said before age is not that big of a factor with the older you get, but the younger you are the more age takes a role.  Every situation is different and so only the individual can tell.

when you get older, it would really matter as much, like if he was 25 and you were 23 or somethin like that, when you were both out of college.. but when you have friends and people to impress, i think sometimes age does matter

What a tangled web we weave..

You love people for them, not their age, right? So what's the problem? 16 and 18 is no biggy! My mate, who is 15, is currently ENGAGED to a 29 year old. That's right, you didn't read that wrong!! He's 29! They've been going out since she was 13.. A 14 year age gap is something worth questioning over.
