I also suggest: www.dnsstuff.com Using that site, you can test ping times, and response problems, as well as DNS issues. www.internetseer.com tells you about uptime, it's a free internet monitor. 100 website's on 1 server just seems like an aweful lot of bandwidth being used.

I have JUST setup a reseller account with novelhosting and I feel the need to write here and tell people quite how cool it is....and before you ask, no I have not been paid to do this (I wish). I asked them loads of questions via email and I got all the replies within 4hours, sometimes within a few mins, so I think its safe to say their customer support is up to scratch. The feature list that is in the first post and on their site does not really do justice to what they have added to the hosting plans (might I add, it seems you get everything with each type of account). I spent this morning going through all the "auto install" scripts and I have to say, I would love to be as good at finding them as they are, as they have all been very good, its even at the point where I get a choice for different scripts like forums and blogs....there are 4 blogs and 2 forums(and some more forums in the CMS section). I have to say, all in all, I and really happy, and haven’t had a problem yet *fingers crossed* thanks

A coworker just signed up with them and as the webdesigner I just poked around a little. Pure bliss. As pleaseremove said, the support is up to par. I've gotten responses in under 14 hours. And they do beat any price by 10%! This is what swayed my decision since I do have a source who had a better deal, but novel matched the site, even though to sign up for the site you have to email the owner (not ideal), which is superb. I'm more then pleased so far!

They were also never on live or msn support and never accepted emails as their inbox sent auto cannot be delivered errors as their boxes were full.

That sounds interesting. I don't know about some of the things you mentioned in the more expensive ones. I am going to have a free webhosting thing for when I upload my html and flash portfolio websites. I have to do it for my web class in college but also to get work too.
