im getting a new computer, im getting microshit OS, what one should i get. Im thinking 2000, but XP comes with it, should i just stick with XP?

I have to get microshit cuz my mom needs it to work with her computer at work, or i wouldnt get it

Windows XP is win2k just jazzed up..... There isnt much difference between them.. however I do perfer... win2k froma secuirty point of view....

Needs windows to work with a computer remotely from work? If shes just going to use her office system remotely, then have her install VNC on the office system.

If its a program, you might try it on wine first.

Alright, well then if there microsoft word documents or something, she could use openoffice. Then again if you wanted you could also dual boot the system, so when your on it you can use what you want, and when shes on it.. she gets her windows.

But it dosent matter as there aint much diff between 2k and xp pro...its seems like alot of hastle.... to me just for that 1 thing.. just stay with Win XP PRO

it depends on the type of system u are getting.  if there is HT in the proc (provided its intel) or its at 800 fsb (quad pumped) w/ 400mhz ddr ram, xp is the way to go (win2k will slow it down).  if not, get 2k
