legally there is no free "powerpoint" though I think openoffice includes a similar program so just google "openoffice" and you'll likely find something you can work with.

I suggest buying it. There is a free powerpoint viewer if that is what you want.

If you download the "free trial" it deactivates itself in a few days.

If you download it off of some illegal site, you are at risk for viruses...

I use OpenOffice (comes with Ubuntu) for downloading lecture presentations. It works great.
