i don't think so, the plate is for where the car is reged to, so unless you move your home (not dorm) to that state (which would make it an in state college) then no.

well, i would be moving out of the house where my mom, dad, and bro live... i'd be on my own in my own apartment. so i wouldn't need to change it?

It probably depends on the state. I know that in California you're not supposed to have an out-of-state tag for mroe than 6 months, but I'm not sure if it's different for students. Just ask the DMV.

I think the main thing is where you have residency (sp?). If the tuition bills go to your apartment, then you would be living in that state, but if everything (bills etc) goes back home to your home state, then I think the states say that you live in that state. I think everyone I know from out of state keeps their home state tags because they go back home on the summer.

Almost all states require that any resident of a state (you at college) who drives a car there (you at college), be required to have in-state insurance and registration within a certain period (usually 3-6 months). You still have two years! Don't worry about the litte crp!
