Should the Intellectual Forum be continually moderated?
It's a question. About moderation.

Let's be frank, there is plenty of discussion as to the legitimacy of the intellectual quiz. It fails to perform as desired, and seems, like the U.S. Military, to be letting in ever-more people unfit for the service it entails.
[It's a political joke. Laugh.]

Regardless.
As I read some of the topics listed here, and many of the replies, I'm struck by the profound failings of our all-mighty test. Several posters appear to be ignorant, if not out-right trying to start arguments or flame wars, and this behavior goes unchecked by what I feel is a nazi-group of moderators.
[I'm just bitter that it took me three tries to get in, simply because I didn't sufficiently cover the topics. Don't mind me.]

What does the quiz do for us?
Well, for one, it determines whether or not we can tell the lower region of a coloured block is missing.
Astounding!

In several questions, it has us judge a single mistake with the equivalence of fifth-grade difficulty. Personally, I judge people's English skills on-line pretty commonly. Hell, I do it in forums, and chat-rooms, and etc. It isn't like this is anything new.

And the very first question has us ask ourselves:
"Can we write a number backwards? Any say it aloud?"

I feel these questions are begging for failure.

Furthermore, the essay portion is stiff, crude, and fascist.
You have to choose between several cliche questions with little chance for creativity or individual expression.
It has to be an easily-acquired length, the likes of which only AIM-obsessed teenagers and pre-teens would be unable to reach.
And if you mis-spell a word or two, you're gone.
[Thank god for FireFox?]

Feel free to add your own personal response on how to fix the problem, if the above options do not suit you.
I'll add additional options as I see fit.
