People were saying that Apple made there iPhone a "Brick" by like scewing it up or something but how did this happen, it was from a software update right? Will Apple fix these or something?

The iPhone could do a bunch of stuff before the update 1.1.1 Then it made the phone only able to do certain things.
I have the iPhone, but I dont think I have done the update.
