I've not read any of the works of Plato, Aristotle, or Socrates, to my knowledge...

However, I have read works of Homer and Beowulf.

My favorite work of Plato is the Symposium. I haven't found a greater exposition of love in any other work of literature, with the exception of a few religious texts.

I've read several of each of those listed and not listen in the polls from each author.

Personally, I've read the republic and the cave. Both were by Plato, I haven't read anything by Aristotle and I'm not sure Socrates was a particularly prolific writer.

The safest general characterization of the European philosophical tradition is that it consists of a series of footnotes to Plato.

I've read part of one of Aristotle's works, a long time ago though, so I hardly remember any of it.  I have read the Oddysey by Homer, and it was good, but long and annoying.

The only philosophers I read are Thoreau, Emmerson and Kafka. Frankly, I find Ancient Greco-Roman philosopy boring. I'm aware of how influential, revolutionary and generally applicable it is...but I'm not one to read it.

I've read Beowulf, and some of Homer's Odyssey, but what should it matter whether you have or haven't, there are plenty of other philosophers who could be considered just as intellectual.
