You use the adapter to connect directly into the cable box, with an ethernet cable, then buy your dad a laptop wireless pick-up card, and that should be it.

EDIT: The ethernet cable going to the cable internet box, should be in the "Internet" port of the router.


Solid advice.  If everything goes wrong dont pay some joker to do it for you (Best Buy, PC World etc) Get a FAQ on the web.  Or even ask a smart friend!
