Connecting 2 routers?

Ok, I know how to double up routers, but these two don't seem to have the right settings.

I have a DI-514, and a DI-524, both wireless, and both have strong signals. Normally, all you have to do is set the client router to Ad-HOC, infrastructure mode, so it's set to connect to other routers.

Both have the latest firmware, and work fine. But, they do not have the infrastructure mode setting for some reason.

Does anyone know of any firmware that would allow infrastructure mode? Or a tweak that allows the other router to connect to the host router?

Note: I cannot connect them physically, they're too far apart. (about 2 stories away)
