UPDATE - We are making this a contest so that you can donate there instead!

LiveWire Members for a Better World

Donate Points - Here
Website? http://liveision.com/a-better-world (used to keep track of donations)
Goal? As a community raise $100 for a charity of our choice.
Idea? Make everyone realize how easy it is to help out each other.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
You eat every day, take showers, and sleep in your warm bed every night. You are one of the lucky ones who don't need to worry about the necessities of life.
This isn't a guilt trip or an accusation but simply a wake up call. We have more than we need. We indulge in the extra things in life all the time. Video games, ice cream, and fancy clothes.
We have the ability to help others. The ones who weren't so lucky. The homeless children, the diseases in Africa, the mistreated women. I propose we rise up and do what we can. Lets make a change! This is our house! Our home! Lets help each other and the environment!
I've decided to make a group, to start a cause here at LiveWire. What can we, as a community, do to change the world. I have set up a web page as our headquarters.
LiveWire Members for a Better World
The short term goal is to raise $100 for the charity of our choice. Once the money is raised we will all vote to decide where it goes.
Now I know there are a lot of you who would like to donate but have no money. Well, heres what you can do. Donate points to a new the contest I set up here. For every 1000 points donated I will match it with a $4 contribution to the $100 goal.
I encourage anyone who can to help me match the points donated.
Thank you,
MattmaN
You think $100 is going to change anything at all? If you truly wanted to help out, check out Clinton's new Campaign. He's a lot more powerful that you are, thus able to accomplish more.
You have to start somewhere and $100 here and $100 there is worth the same thing.
Who are you to put down a good cause. Who are you to put me down. Its that exact ideology that keeps most people from doing anything. They think "Oh, someone else will do it...and they'll do it better". Anything we do helps! We all have the ability to make the world a better place.
I'm not putting anyone down. The helping mentality is great, but your strategy is incorrect. There are great organizations out there that minimize their costs, and provide maximum benefits to building school, and those who need it.
Individual endeavors almost always end up wasting a lot of money on unnecessary junk. Check this out:
We will be donating the money to an existing charity. This is simply a call for donations.
Nah, just kidding.  Great idea, though.  I'll see what I can do to help.
That's what people told these three boys about trying to save a country and encouraging people that even a $1 could help them and the people of Uganda...
I don't care how much power you think one person has... just because he/she is up there, doesn't mean you have no power to do it yourself.
I am more than willing to donate but I do have a few questions.  Who's paypal account does this go to?  How do we know we aren't just donating to your bank account?  How do we know this will, in fact, be donated to a charity?  Do you have any idea what charity it will go towards yet?
I'm not trying to be a bitch, I swear.  I just think these are things people need to know before handing out their money over the internet.
