For me, its anything that isn't "natural". Anything like burning, drowning, or murder. Something that doesn't have to do with a disease or just old age. Specifically, being murdered, especially being stabbed.

I chose terminal illness, and for many reasons. I couldn't imagine attempting to live the normal everyday knowing I'm going to die, and I just don't know when. Sure, technically that's the case with everyone, but we're not as concious to the fact as someone who's death is building inside them, with no way of stopping it from doing so. Plus, like a post had mentioned, to live your life seeing yourself and all your loved ones suffer because of you must hurt more than knowing your dying. What scares me are the illnesses that don't kill you right away but are long processes. When it comes to being murdered, or any of the other options you have to deal with dying for a few moments, while with an illness, you have to deal with it every moment. My mom just passed away two weeks ago. She had diabetes most of her life. Because of the diabetes she had kidney failures and the doctors didn't even know until one had completely failed and the other wasn't far behind. She had a transplant after a few months of dialysis. She also had to have her toes amputated. Before she died it was a progression of her body natually shutting down slowly. What I think hurt her most than any of the rest was that she lived with cerebral deteoration for nearly a year and half. To live your life forgetting everything about the people around you, yourself, and even how to do the basic everyday life things had to have been horrible. I apologize for rambling. My answer is terminal illness.
------- May you rest in peace, Mom, knowing you are forever appreciated, loved, missed, and remembered.

I voted for 'other' because I think being buried alive would be the worst. You just wait there until your oxygen is depleted. And that could take ages, and then you'd lie there without food or warmth or comfort. You could die a million different ways just from being buried alive it seems.

I think imagining death is probably worse than the reality. However it happens, I think I'd rather it be quick than long and drawn out. I have this terrible allergic reaction to excessive pain.

Being grated by a giant cheese grater would have to be at the top of the list.

WIth a terminal disease, the process is usually long and drawn out. Drowning takes, what, 3 minutes max? Man inflicted can vary time wise. Burning hurts, but isn't amazingly long-if you die in the fire. Dying from skin graphs...that would suck.
------- If your heart were broken, you'd be dead.

Drowning in a mixture of shit and vomit would be rather nasty. And it's sort of a lame death. Who can't help but think "Wow, cool!" when those Tibetan monks self-immolate?

I would have to say being driven insane and commiting suicide would be horrible.

In my sleep. I don't want the last thing I feel seconds before death to be nothing. If I had my choice about how I will die it will be doing something stupid and hopefully it will not be a peaceful way to go.

On terms of a frightening death, would be the case of doomsday. Imagine scientists saying we all have 12 days : 8 hours : 32 minutes : 34 seconds until a two mile wide asteroid strikes the pacific ocean. Imagine, knowing that it would be over for all. Yes, it'd be painless, but just having to know, and to think of loosing everything, and erasing all life from the planet Earth. Pretty frightening I think.
I would consider that to be a great death. Those 12 days, 8 hours, 32 minutes and 34 seconds would be the best ones of your life. Society and morality would crumble: hedonism would reign true. You could do what you wanted to, and no one would care with any real conviction. Could it be possible to die any happier?

Burning. Imagine feeling that pain And seeing the flames, and feeling your skin melt. I mean jesus, Its hard to get worse than that HOWEVER: Being buried alive would be my worst fear. Being stuck in a coffin 6" under would, in the dark, not being able to move, with low oxygen levels That would be my worst way to go
Woah, buried alive never crossed my mind.
