I don't see a reply from you in that eHelp.  If you're going to complain, at least complain about something you yourself can reply to.

As for the replies?  Sure, they should be more in depth and far longer than one line, but I know that one of those support leaders is new to this game, and the other may just be a one-time thing.  I've had my eHelp replies where I felt that no more than a few sentences was needed - it depends on the situation.  If you have a problem with it, perhaps start a conversation with the SLs you have an issue with?

I'd rather bag on the professional for being a copypasta. T'was a guest, but he puts in his usual "PM ME!" bit, which doesn't really fit. Failure, much?

That irks me more than you can know, Jeff.  IRKSSSSS.

Jeff,

No one has ever even mentioned it to me.  Believe it or not, I'm not perfect.  No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes.  It had never even dawned on me.  It won't happen again.  Simple, huh?

Edit: Actually, forget it.  I'm tired of constantly having to debate the freaking closing remark.  It was intended to encourage people to message me, or submit another eHelp.  Apparently, that's just terrible!  It won't be used again.  I wouldn't want to fail anymore than I already have in the eHelp system, or anything.

Wait... I thought we talked about that Pro and you fixed it? That was awhile ago, before I became a mod when we talked about that. *scratches head*

Dream, I remember talking to you about something regarding the closing statement, but it wasn't regarding guests.

It doesn't matter.  People around here have such an issue with it, when all it was intended for was to open up communication.  It won't ever be used again.  As I said, I definitely don't want to be any more of a failure, of course.

Firstly, I have only been a SL for two days now, so I am trying to get the hang of all of this.

Secondly, I felt my reply was pretty straight and to the point. But, next time I just wont reply if I have nothing but one line to say.

Check it.
The ehelp was only like, 2 lines. Does that merit an 8 page reply? This isn't a size thing, but... seriously. They only asked two simple questions. "What do I do?" & "Am i obsessive"

Both were answerd, so what's the dealio?

Let me give you a few ways to elaborate to that reply:

What are some commons signs that someone is attracted?
If the advice is given "tell him how you feel", then how should she tell him? Maybe give tips on writing a letter, or what she could say?
One could give advice that dreams =/= real life, but that they may give her something to think about.
More questions could be asked on why she feels obsessive, and what it means to be obsessive.

Just because something is two lines does not mean that that is not more to it. Just because someone may answer the questions (although that's great), that is not why someone is a Support Leader. People should be promoted to Support Leader because they are able to help in all forms, not just simply what is asked in black and white. There is a lot more to that eHelp reply that I saw than just those two questions, and there are tons of ways to elaborate and give more advice that may be useful, even when it is not expressly asked for. That is why we have chosen so many of you to be SLs, because you were leaders.

Anyone can answer the questions with a "?" at the end, it takes special people to add on extra helpful advice, and those people are you.

Or frightened (Eeek!), or mad (Rats!)

Ah well, I wasn't trying to say that they were the best written replies in the universe, but they weren't like, unhelpful, right? Ah well, I'm confusing myself. Quality over quantity, I'll stick with that.

I agree that those replies are sparse.those SL's should be talked to about what the purpose is of E-help, but this bashing helps no one.

Why are we attacking the professional?? this thread isnt about that. his replies are always amazing, and always helpful...leave the kid alone.

i don't think it was really nice to have made a thread specifically about the support leaders... i imagine i'd feel really shit if i came in here and saw that it was my reply everyone was complaining about or whatever. i really don't think the support leader forum is here so we can pick at eachother and use certain SLs as examples and stuff. that's pretty shit.

just thought i'd put that out there.

edit: post needed a point. it now has one.

The only place where I would post a one-liner is if it was a topic about "Can I get pregnant" and what-not.

I think the advice was fair enough, the guest asked whether they were obsessed and what they should do with this guy, and they told him.

I would have elaborated a bit more though and said how to actually go about telling him rather than "take the plunge"

Hey! I'm in that eHelp!
And it's one of my bad replies as well...
mmm, I love my Josh, but it does look a bit like point whoring to me. And I know he's capable of writing heaps as well - sometimes all you have to do is write one line and you'll get a long response. Maybe he just didn't know what to say and just wanted to put in his two cents?
He's still a good SL.
LilGuardchic usually makes short replies, but they're always pretty good.
Maybe this topic was just a one off for both of them.

I agree that it was way too short... but this could have easily been solved with a quick PM. :/
