1. Once an SL has voted to hide, show the reason they chose next to the keep/dump buttons.

2. Don't allow voting to keep to clear the gray and the keep/dump options for any SL except for the one who voted to keep.
    a. SLs may not know that voting to keep removes the gray and keep/dump options for everybody, not just them. They may just want to be able to see the post with the regular background, and if they don't want to vote on the issue they might just vote to keep thinking it'll only clear in their interface. They may even be conscious of the fact and since they don't have an opinion they want to read the post without the disruption.
    b. Davjs said it requires 2 votes to be hidden, not 2 more votes to hide than votes to keep. I think the whole idea is that only 2 SLs having similar thoughts is enough, and the cancel-out effect is unnecessary.

If I have made a mistake in my facts, feel free to point it out and cite your source.

I agree with #1 wholly.

#2 is kinda sketchy, though. I mean, what if a SL voted to hid something, then another one thought, "That's not hide-worthy!" and voted to keep it. I think that ANY vote to keep on an already voted post would disable the post for further flagging (and send it to the mods), as it shows confusion among the SLs, and it's not a clear cut removal.

A clarification for the "vote to keep" might be in order, but I've never found it too confusing. Maybe have three options for the second vote: "Hide it" "Keep it" and "No opinion/ignore" or something like that.

Yeah Khad, the neutral option was something I hadn't thought of and I think would fix the issue.

Another thing if that doesn't work would be to allow moderators to override all votes to hide on a post that they saw was flagged in error.

Ditto.  I really like #1 and in fact, I have suggested it in the past but no one really took notice except for maybe one or two other SLs. But I am all about it because I think it would be sufficient if we showed the reason why something was hidden just in case it was either by accident or to even see if another SL just might be abusing their powers a little bit.

I should think most SLs are aware of how the system works, though, so I don't see that there's any reason at all for #2.
