About the guests that use the E-help system.

How can they rate your answers? Most of the ones I fill out are from guests. So I never get any feedback response, which sucks. Because if I did, I would probably get a higher positive rating for my profile and all.

I wish there was a way of changing that.

Do you agree?

It is possible for a guest to rate your eHelp, however I still feel that they should not be given the right to judge your eHelp response - as they are not a member, if they join up using that email and then be able to rate it this would be better.

However - I don't think they should rate if they are not registered, however this won't affect your sportiveness/etc it'll just get counted as a postive.

That is my opinion..

Why should being a member make any difference to being able to rate a response?

They are signed onto the site and use it, therefore earned the right. A guest calls for help, and then could bring a SL down by saying it's a shit response - bit stupid if you ask me.

But it could well be perceived as shit help by a member. You cannot earn the right to get & rate help.

I can see his point.

I do think it is wrong if the person marked it out of spite. But sometimes the replies can be shitty. Usually, members are honest with their ratings. Usually, being the key word.

eHelps shouldn't be all about ratings to begin with. Ratings are only there to help you figure out if you're doing a good job at writing a response or not. If you can get a response back along with a rating, be happy with that and take it as you can.

Personally,I kinda wished there was a better way we can do ratings. Ever since David changed it so no matter what they rate about your response, it's still a "positive" remark back to you.

Example (might be off a little bit):
"Your response has been very helpful and is very much appreciated."

No offense, I want to know if it was bad or not... I want to be told, "hey, your response really didn't help me much because of..." I do realize we can't always depend on people actually doing this which is why I wouldn't mind if we also allowed other SLs to rate our responses. It's always a good idea to get help from our peers, so why not? If anything, we could do it as a separate rating system, if people want to keep it separated.

Guests can and, in my experience, often do, rate.

Seanee - I'm with Beth on this one. We allow everyone to use this site unless they prove that they don't deserve to. If a guest gets rubbish advice, they deserve to be able to say so. If they get good advice, then why shouldn't they say?

I don't see a single reason guests shouldn't be able to rate.

I like your idea. I wasn't just in it for the ratings and all. I would just like to know how I am fulfilling my job. I try my best.
