Especially algebra. If you can't figure out something as simple as 7x - 1 = 34, you're a failure.

More specifically, you'll probably do some decent algebra courses in IT to learn some encryption methods. Probably some linear algebra (matrices).

So, THATS what we're supposed to use Algebra for? That's all I really need to know.. how algebra would affect my job as a Network Admin.

Basic network admins need some algerbraic skils but not much,

maths is a important subject for things like, subnetting and supernetting etc. but otherwise, very little actual algebra.

To be a good network admin you will need good logic skills, etc which is exactly teh kinda thing that algebra helps build
