Have any of you guys ever read an eHelp and then wrote out an entire reply and then realized before you posted it that it made no sense at all and you really can not help this person?

Maybe I am just being a n00b, but that just happened to me.

Yea, that has happened to me a couple times.
Sometimes I post it anyways hoping the member can get something out of it.

Not so much that I feel helpless, but there are a couple of times when a member that I felt more friendly with wrote an eHelp, and I really wanted to write a reply, but I would think about what I'd say and realize that I couldn't really give them answers, just support. Normally in those cases I instead simply write them a PM with my would-be reply, because I'd feel bad using up one of the three replies with something not-so-helpful, but I still want to tell them it and show my support.

Seems to work out ok for me.

I can remember one time specifically when that happened to me. It was a little frustrating, but when I spent a little more time thinking about it I was able to convince myself again that it would be somewhat helpful.

It happens.  We can reply to some eHelps, others we can't and sometimes we realize that after typing out a long response.  I've read over responses before and thought to myself that it just wasn't going to help the member in the least.

It's okay to skip some.

It happens sometimes. Its part of the process I think. It still happens to me sometimes, and I have been a sl on and off for a while now.

Hahahah, all the time.  I ramble a lot.

I ramble too! And then I'm like, hang on, I didn't make any points!
I do it especially with my friends, like I can't even get Support LEadery with them because most probably we were talking about stupid stuff over msn a few minteus before or something. It happened when Keren was still here and I felt so bad after making bad replies :(
But if you don't want to post it then just PM them with it so that another SL can write out the third/second reply.

Thats why I try not to reply when I know the person. I'll just talk to them on IM, or PM about it. hehe

Ah that's true, but I find that if I'm PMing, IMing of emailing then I tend to take it less seroiusly. Well, that's not the right way to put it, but I'll be far less professional and it's more likely to be filled with <333s and I love yous and Please Don't Do anything Stupids. If it's an eHelp then I KNOW that I'll keep the advice on track.
