I think if you want to delete your own posts then you've obviously done something wrong and should have not have posted it in the first place, like Scott said you can just edit it if you don't want it removed.

I've also heard that deleting your own posts is a "perk of the job" because some would rather just delete than edit or mark anonymous.

In that case you can just PM a mod or another SL, you should only press that button once you silly sausage 
 yes, but sometimes I double click because my hand sometimes just twitches and will do it without me even controlling it.
In that case you need to contact a Doctor not an SL
