PacSun
Interview there tomorrow!

I applied at PacSun today, and the manager looked over my application then immediately asked if I could come in tomorrow for an interview. YES! I've been looking for a job for ages and this is the first thing I've even gotten close to (well, there was one other thing, but my age stopped me -- curse being 4 months away from 18).

Anyway, I was wondering if you guys had any tips for me. I've never had a job interview before (my other two jobs were basically handed to me), so I'm not really sure. You're supposed to look nice, right? But then again, PacSun is a really casual store...What should I wear? Anything else?

Also, has anyone worked there before? If so, what was it like?

Thanks!

PacSun is a cool store but really expensive. Good luck with your job. The only advice I have is to be helpful and nice to the cstomers. Nothing is worse than a clerk who is being a D-bag.

wear something thats not like.. a suit and tie or something
i'm going to assume your a girl?

maybe dress in like.. a pair of nice jeans and a fitted shirt
don't get tooo dressed up for a store like that, if it were me.. I'd wear an outfit like what you would buy there

smile, be friendly, make eyecontact. don't say anything negative about yourself just be positive

and my biggeessttt tip because this for me always helps

ASK QUESTIONS!!
An employer is going to want someone that WANTS to learn and know more
at the end of the interview, he'll probably be like "so do you have any questions" even if the interview is pretty cut and dry.. be like "so how long have you worked here" or something like that, let them know that you are interested!

and most importantly..
don't ask about how much you are going to make... benifits (if any) or stuff like that.. they don't want someone whos going to nag

and I do wish ya luck  let us know how it goes

Nigel - Yeah, PacSun is cool but expensive hence the major appeal of working there. I don't want to work anywhere that I actually shop, but I also want to like where I work. I can't afford PacSun, so I only go there sometimes, but I really like it.

littlebigwonder - Yes, I'm a girl. So what I was thinking of wearing is some nice jeans, a casual button up that I actually bought at PacSun (albeit like 3 years ago, but whatever) and flip flops. Sound good?

Wear something nice but not to dressed up since it's Pacsun. I would say something preppy...

Be very confident when you see the manager and be prepared for a lot of questions.

Well, I went to the interview.

I wore a brown shirt that has small white and teal dots and two "undershirts" one that's white and one that's teal, wide leg jeans and flip flops.

There were two other people being interviewed, and the manager was super nice. We just started out talking, and then she asked questions and we took turns answering first. The questions were like, what work experience do you have, do you like working alone or as part of a team, tell me about a time when you and a co-worker had a disagreement and how it was settled, what would you do if you saw a co-worker taking some cheap merchandise...And then the one question that was the hardest was "sell me the outfit you're wearing." After all the questions, we played a "game" in which we went around listing brands that PacSun sells, we had a chance to ask questions, and were told that we would hear back in a couple of days.

...What does a couple of days mean?
